Join the Sustainer Circle:  Share the Journey

You matter until the last moment of your life.  And we will do all we can, not only to help you die peacefully, but to live until you die.

-Dame Cecily Saunders, founder of the modern hospice movement

At its core, hospice care recognizes the worth of each individual life.  Time is measured not in the quantity but in the quality of minutes, hours, and days.

365-days a year, 24-hours a day, Hospice of the Piedmont experts and trained volunteers provide medical and nursing care, pain and symptom relief, and emotional and spiritual support for hundreds of terminally ill patients and the people who love them.

Now, with support provided on a regular basis each and every month, you can join the Sustainer Circle and share the journey with other supporters who are helping us transform the way people view and experience serious illness, dying, and grief.

Why Join?

Sustainer’s gifts are made each month, on an automated and recurring basis, to make it easier for the donor and more cost-efficient for Hospice of the Piedmont.

You can make your gift by credit or debit card or with an automatic debit from your checking account.  You set the amount.

Giving as a Sustainer maximizes the value of your gift and minimizes the impact on your personal life.  You will receive fewer mailings from us, and you won’t feel the pinch in your pocketbook from a lump sum donation.  You have complete control over your gift and can change it or suspend it at any time.

Sustainers help Hospice of the Piedmont by:

  • Minimizing the costs of gift processing and mailing requests for donations, and maximizing the impact of donations
  • Ensuring more support goes to programs while lowering administrative costs.  It is far more efficient to make an automatic, monthly contribution to Hospice of the Piedmont.
  • Providing a steady stream of resources to help us plan for the needs of our patients

A gift of $10 provides a grieving child the opportunity to design a comfort blanket, anticipating the death of someone they love.

A gift of $25 provides LifeLine Medical Alert for one month to the patient who lives alone and who has no one to call for help.

A gift of $35 covers the cost of one Comfort Care Pak supplied to each family.  These pre-packaged medications, coded for appropriate use, can be used by the caregiver to manage break-through pain until the hospice nurse arrives.

A gift of $50 provides the durable medical equipment a terminally-ill patient needs to stay in their home (hospital bed, commode, etc.), for ten days.
