Community Outreach
Speakers Bureau
Hospice of the Piedmont’s Speakers Bureau was created to tell you our story of comfort, compassion, and hospice care, as well as to inform the community of the services and educational programs we have to offer. A frequent comment we hear from patients and family members who have experienced Hospice of the Piedmont’s care is…”if only we had known about Hospice sooner.” Our desire is that everyone who needs us will benefit from our services when the time is right.
In addition to educating the public about our hospice care program and services, we also share our experience in areas such as recognizing the complexity of being a caregiver, dealing with hard choices, coping with grief and loss issues, and the joys of being a volunteer.
Members of our speakers bureau provide presentations and educational training on various topics throughout our nine county service area free of charge. All presentations are made by qualified staff and volunteers. Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Hospice of the Piedmont: Overview and Services
- Hopsice: It's About How You Live or "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Hospice Care But Were Afraid to Ask!"
- The Hospice Medicare Benefit: “How Do I Pay for Hospice?”
- Planning for the Future: Advance Directives
- Exploring Death & Dying
- Hard Choices: Decisions in End-of-Life Care
- Children’s Grief
- Grief, Loss & Bereavement: Coping with Loss
- Being a Hospice Volunteer
- The Spirituality Challenge of Hospice Care
- Pain Management & Symptom Control
