It's Time For Hospice When...

“My husband was a wonderful man and deserved the dignity and love you all gave him. I don’t know what I would have done without your support and careful attention to him”

- A patient’s wife

Hospice of the Piedmont celebrates quality–not quantity–of life.

Our experienced medical and support teams help terminally ill patients manage their pain and symptoms, focusing on compassionate comfort instead of cure. Our patients are people like your loved one who have only weeks or months to live, with illnesses such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia, end-stage kidney disease, end-stage liver disease, HIV/AIDS, ALS and other end-stage neurodegenerative diseases, and end-stage heart and lung disease.

You Know It’s Time for Hospice When Your Loved One...

Is often in the hospital, the ER, or seeing the doctor.

Isn’t as interested in eating anymore.

Is in pain or experiencing discomfort.

Needs help with daily activities such as bathing and dressing.

Spends more and more time in bed.

Needs care that is overwhelming and tiring for you and other caregivers.

While not every patient qualifies for hospice care, please call us today to discuss potential eligibility with a skilled hospice admission nurse. We’ll answer any questions you may have.

We are dedicated to getting patients who need us into hospice care sooner, so your loved one can be comfortable and enjoy as much meaningful time with you as possible. Most patients and families receive hospice only in the last week of life, when actually they could receive our warm and compassionate comfort care for many weeks, months, or longer. And we are there for you too, giving everyone on your loved one's end-of-life journey a safe and caring place to grieve, thanks to our high-quality, ongoing grief support programs.

Best of all, our hospice and grief support services are available at no cost to patients and their families.

“I never really thought that I was going to die. But there does come a time when you are ready to lay it down.
Your staff has helped me lay it down. Thank you.”
