The Hospice House has been part of many journeys, stories, and memories. Thanks to generous community philanthropy, we’ve had the privilege of caring for more than 1,500 patients and their families in need for nearly 20 years. We thank you for your support along the journey.

Our Hospice House

Opened in 2004, the Newton & Wilma Thomas Hospice House is one of only three licensed, residential hospice facilities in the state of Virginia. Hospice House offers around-the-clock, compassionate care to patients who no longer have a caregiver or whose loved ones are unable to provide care at home during the final part of their journey.

Hospice care is free, as our full scope of hospice services is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance. Room and board are covered by an additional fee of $250 per day.
