Dr. Kellie Mitchell joined the Hospice of the Piedmont in August of 2024, shortly after completing a Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and the University of Virginia School of Medicine. Dr. Mitchell also completed their UVA Emergency Medicine Residency in June 2023. They have a BS in Biochemistry from Mississippi State University and completed their medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. They are board-certified in hospice and palliative medicine.

When not practicing medicine, they are creating and moving. They have competed in aerial dance and enjoy music, painting, and writing poetry and fiction.
