Shannon Gearing

Development Officer

Shannon Gearing joined the Hospice of the Piedmont Development team in 2014 following the merger of Hospice of the Piedmont and Hospice of the Rapidan. Prior to the merger, she served as Development Coordinator for Hospice of the Rapidan, where she was responsible for all aspects of special event fundraising, community outreach, and marketing. Ms. Gearing brings a depth of experience in event production, nonprofit marketing, and organizational leadership, including a previous role as Executive Officer of the Piedmont Virginia Building Industry Association. As part of the Development Team, Ms. Gearing is honored to play a role in connecting community members with opportunities to support compassionate end-of-life care for patients and families across the region. Outside of work, Ms. Gearing finds joy in cooking for her husband, family, and friends, and enjoys relaxing evenings taking in the beautiful sunsets over the Blue Ridge Mountains.
