Hospice of the Piedmont is pleased to announce a new challenge grant to support nursing scholarships and the Education Institute. Kay M. Taylor has pledged to match all gifts designated to the Education Institute up to $125,000 between now and November 9, 2021. All gifts and pledges made for the Education Institute up to $125,000 will be matched, dollar for dollar, providing a total of $250,000 when fully funded.
This wonderful challenge grant will support programs of the HOP Education Institute including the Donald A. Perry Memorial Scholarship and the Kay M. Taylor Professional Grants. Matched funds may also support Education Institute programs such as community outreach, caregiver education and the new Death Doula program.
Established in 2018, the Donald A. Perry Memorial Scholarship provides full tuition and expenses for qualified Hospice of the Piedmont Certified Nursing Assistants to pursue their RN degree and also for HOP Registered Nurses to pursue their BSN degree. In addition, Mrs. Taylor has supported professional development grants to encourage qualified staff to seek certification in their specialty area, gaining new skills and knowledge and ultimately providing better care for patients.
